At the end of January 2014 was held at The Hague a meeting of ISO Working Group on the revision of the ISO 15489 standard. The work is progressing at a fast pace but are still in the stage of working group draft. Some of the conclusions of the working group to note were: - Separate principles from the implementation issues, leading to a structure similar to the current one in diffrent parts. - Highlight the importance of the analysis processes that underlie the whole records management, and are performed before the creation of records. Very interesting is the inclusion of appraisal at this point. - The distinction between metadata at the point of capture and process metadata . If work continues as expected in the coming months, the draft will be balloted for adoption as a draft of the Committee. But itsfinal publication will not be before 2015. |
