On 21 May, the Ministry of Education Culture and Sports of Spain organized the conference Keys of UNE ISO 30300 for records professionals. 

The conference was a success with over 120 professionals in the audience. It was presented by the Deputy Director of State Archives, Severiano Hernandez, who stressed the importance of these standards in the field of records management and its importance in the public sector and implementation of e-goverment.

The presentations were made by Jose Angel Valderrama AENOR, Montserrat García-Alsina from the Universistat Oberta de Catalunya and Carlota Bustelo Ruesta, Independent Consultant. Presentations can be found on http://www.mcu.es/novedades/2012/novedades_ISO30300.html.

Begoña Bartres, FESABID Manager, presented the Training Workshop organized by AENOR/ FESABID for the month of June 2012.

Finally Beatriz Franco, from State Archives, opened a panel discussion in which all participants answered questions from a very active audience. Several of these twit the meeting with the hashtag #iso30300profesionales.

A compilation of the issues on the discussion panel were:

- Benefits of certification. Credibility as a key
- Relationship between ISO 15489 and ISO 30300
- International implementation of these standards
- Relationship with the Technical Standards for Interoperability (NTI) of the Spanish government
- Conditions for the profile of the auditor
- The possibility of implementing the standard in a small organization
- The systemic vision which links diffrenet professionals within the organization
