| On 21 May, the Ministry of Education Culture and Sports of Spain organized the conference Keys of UNE ISO 30300 for records professionals. 
The conference was a success with over 120 professionals in the audience. It was presented by the Deputy Director of State Archives, Severiano Hernandez, who stressed the importance of these standards in the field of records management and its importance in the public sector and implementation of e-goverment.
The presentations were made by Jose Angel Valderrama AENOR, Montserrat García-Alsina from the Universistat Oberta de Catalunya and Carlota Bustelo Ruesta, Independent Consultant. Presentations can be found on http://www.mcu.es/novedades/2012/novedades_ISO30300.html.
Begoña Bartres, FESABID Manager, presented the Training Workshop organized by AENOR/ FESABID for the month of June 2012.
Finally Beatriz Franco, from State Archives, opened a panel discussion in which all participants answered questions from a very active audience. Several of these twit the meeting with the hashtag #iso30300profesionales.
A compilation of the issues on the discussion panel were:
- Benefits of certification. Credibility as a key
- Relationship between ISO 15489 and ISO 30300
- International implementation of these standards
- Relationship with the Technical Standards for Interoperability (NTI) of the Spanish government
- Conditions for the profile of the auditor
- The possibility of implementing the standard in a small organization
- The systemic vision which links diffrenet professionals within the organization |

| During the week of 6 to 10 May, ISO TC46/SC11 met in Berlin. They were days of intense work. 
Working groups WG8 & WG9, led respectevely by Judith Ellis and Carlota Bustelo, and developers of ISO 30300 series, have decided to join forces and focus efforts on the development of the implementation guide (future ISO 30302), postpone for later work on other products.
The new ISO Directives require an initial justification study for each new product to be approved in advance. The decision of the Subcommittee was to continue working on the draft while processing the approval of justification study, and in this way to launch the first ballot with a fairly consolidated draft. Depending on the comments to be received, the drafting period will be more or less long, but publication cab be expected at least until late 2013 or early 2014. |

| The ISO TC46/SC11 decided to establish an information section on its public website on ISO 30300. This  section will incorporate presentations and documents from members of SC11 used in their countries as promotion and diffusion of ISO 30300.
There will be presentations, materials, magazine articles and short papers in all languages. All material in this section belongs to each author, which is shared with the international community to build a common discourse beyond national borders.

| "White paper" relationships ISO 30300 with other ISO standards |

| The TC46/SC11 has published a "white paper" for free distribution in the public website of the subcommittee. The paper concisely explains relationships between 30300 series of standards, and other records management standards published by ISO TC46/SC11.
The document sets the general relationships between atandards and is accompanied by an Annex that links requirements in the Operation Section (see Annex A of 30301) with each of the sections and subsections of the various standards and technical reports published nowadays. |
